About Us

The Murrindindi Historic Vehicle Register Inc (MHVR) was formed by a group of people with a common interest in veteran, vintage and classic cars.
Formed in 2013, the club is based in the Murrindindi region of country Victoria, about 120km north east of Melbourne, Australia.
The club is very active with a range of runs and social events each month involving members and partners.   There are approximately 60 cars in the club with members owning a wide range of cars including vintage machines , original Australian and imported classics, trucks, Euro tourers, sports cars and modern exotics.  Members have cars undergoing restoration or ageing gracefully towards club permit age.
We are registered with VicRoads as an approved member of the Club Permit Scheme (CPS) which allows members to register and insure limited use older vehicles (25 years plus) at substantially reduced costs.
Members must be residents of the Murrindindi Shire region.
To become a member you just need to participate in three events, after which you can apply to join.  Its not necessary to have an older CPS type car to be in the club or go on runs
To maintain membership you will need to attend at least three events per membership year.    For more information about these rules see the FAQ page.
In regard to club permits, the club is strongly oriented towards original vehicles (H plates in CPS terms).  Modified M plated vehicles will be supported where required for reliability, or for availability of parts, to keep a car on the road and in use. Generally the car needs to look original.
